Director of Public Works requests adoption of the following resolutions confirming the County's cash contributions related to the Jail Replacement Project:
1. Resolution in connection with SB 844 funding with a cash match of $52,000,000; and
2. Resolution in connection with SB 863 funding with a cash match of $43,179,000.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Replacement Jail Project has been moving through the various State of California agency approvals required by the $22.8 Million State funding. State Fire Marshall approval is expected within the next month and the ground lease approval is in process and is anticipated to be completed prior to getting out to bid in July. As part of our "request for approval to go out for construction bids" the State has requested that the County confirm by resolutions the County's cash match for the SB 844 and 863 funding. This agenda item including the resolutions provides that confirmation.

These resolutions are required by the State to continue the Jail approval process

Yes
Future fiscal impact:
Funding for pre-construction costs has been provided. Once bids are received staff will return with a recommendation to fully fund the project to construct the project and be able to begin operations at the Replacement Jail.
Consequences if not approved:
The County's request to the State to proceed with going out for construction bids will be denied and the project will not move forward into construction.
