EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Napa County Library and the Napa Valley Unified School District (NVUSD) have agreed to share the cost of English as a Second Language (ESL) classes and workshops to take place at the Napa Main Library for 34 non-consecutive weeks throughout the school year.

Discretionary Justification:
The ESL classes are funded by the State of California Library Literacy Services (CLLS) ESL Grant and are intended to provide free classes and workshops that allow learners to improve their English-speaking skills.
Is the general fund affected?
No
Future fiscal impact:
The Library's annual contribution is $6,000. All costs associated with this A greement will be budgeted accordingly in the library Literacy Center budget for future fiscal years.
Consequences if not approved:
If the agreement is not approved, ESL classes will not be offered to the Spanish speaking community at the Napa County Library.
