SUBJECT: Acceptance of a Donation of a 0.27 Acre Parcel of Land (APN 025-365-001) Valued at $2,700 located between Silverado Trail and the Napa River from the Pestoni Family Estate
RECOMMENDATION

Director of Public Works requests the following actions regarding a parcel of land:
1. Acceptance of a donation of a 0.27 acre parcel (APN 025-365-001) valued at $2,700 located between Silverado Trail and the Napa River, from the Pestoni Family Estate;
2. Authorization for the Chair to sign a letter of appreciation in acceptance of the donation; and
3. Authorization for the Director of Public Works to sign all required documents to effect the transfer of ownership of the subject parcel.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Pestoni Family Estate has offered donation of a 0.27 acre parcel located near St. Helena, between Silverado Trail and the Napa River. This sliver of land is unusable/unbuildable from a development standpoint, but could be very useful to the County in maintaining Silverado Trail, and particularly if there is another landslide in this area, similar to the slide that occurred on October 28, 2021 in the same general area. As there is little cost to the County, Staff recommends the Board accept this donation.

Staff recommends splitting the closing costs with the donator. These minor costs (<$500) can be covered by the existing Roads budget.
