SUBJECT: Acceptance of a Rotary Club of North Napa donation in the amount of $2,400

Director of Library Services and Community Outreach requests the following:
1. Acceptance of a $2,400 donation from the Rotary Club of North Napa for the Coding Programming Lab with Ozobots and the Code and Go Robot Mouse program; and
2. Authorization for the Chair to sign a letter of appreciation in acceptance of the donation.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Director of Library Services and Community Outreach requests authorization to accept a Rotary Club of North Napa donation in the amount of $2,400 for the Coding and Programming Lab with Ozobots and the Code and Go Robot Mouse program, the lab is designed to introduce the concepts of coding and programming to school-aged children using programmable robots.

Funds will be deposited in the Library's Napa Main Budget, revenue line item 47500- Donations and Contributions for the purchase of program supplies.

Discretionary Justification:
Rotary Club of North Napa donation will allow children 8 years and up a hands-on opportunity to collaborate and develop codes to program an Ozobots Robot and the Code and Go Robot Mouse.
Is the general fund affected?
No
Future fiscal impact:
None. The library can absorb ongoing costs for providing these kits and related programming.
Consequences if not approved:
If the requested action is not approved, the Library will not be able to accept the $2,400 donation, or facilitate the project.
