BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
2020 was another challenging wildfire season in Napa County. On top of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, dangerous fire conditions set the stage for two destructive wildfires, the LNU Lightening Complex Fire, which burned from August 17, 2020 to October 2, 2020, and the Glass Fire, which burned from September 27, 2020 to October 20, 2020.
The Director of Emergency Services activated the Emergency Operations Center for both fires, to manage the county's emergency response efforts, including the dissemination of alerts and warnings, law enforcement, public information, intergovernmental coordination, resource management, shelter operations, and initial recovery activities, such as Local Assistance Center and safety inspections.
