EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Waste Tire Amnesty Grant will provide the Napa County Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) resources to partner with the City of Napa as a joint applicant and other Napa County jurisdictions in the organization of numerous free to the public waste tire collection events. The grant will provide funds for public outreach and education, planning and logistics of the events, staffing, and tire hauling and recycling. These waste tire collection events will be held in various geographic locations throughout Napa County over a two year period. Collection of waste tires will help prevent illegal tire disposal and accumulation of waste tires on private properties and potential public health and safety issues due to vectors, fires, and public nuisance concerns. The State requires a Board resolution authorizing the submittal of an application.
