BACKGROUND
California Government Code Section 25372 authorizes the Board of Supervisors, upon four-fifths (4/5) vote, to donate any real or personal property which the Board declares to be surplus. Any organization which provides health or human services and is tax-exempt pursuant to 26 U.SC Sec. 501(c) (3) is eligible to receive such surplus items.

The Fleet Manager is recommending Vehicle 1081, Asset No. 100255, Property No. 27715, a 2017 Ford F350, VIN# 1FT8W386XHEC16148, be declared surplus and disposed of by way of donation to the Napa County Search and Rescue (SAR) Team, a 501(c)(3) organization, for use in their operations. County vehicles are fully depreciated, generally removed from service, and determined to be no longer required for public use when they reach 90,000 miles. Vehicle 1081 has 125,500 miles.

Requested action:
1. Declare Capital Asset No. 100255 as surplus and no longer required for public use;
2. Authorize the Auditor-Controller to remove Asset No. 100255 from the capital asset listing;
3. Authorize disposal of Asset No. 100255 by donation; and
4. Authorize the Public Works Director and/or Fleet Manager to sign the certificate of title for the surplus item being donated.
