Approve and authorize Agreement No. 240350B with the Napa County Resource Conservation District (NCRCD) for a maximum of $29,200 for the term July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024 to complete grant requirements as outlined in the 2023 Noxious Weed Program with the California Department of Food & Agriculture (CDFA). BACKGROUND
The Agricultural Commissioner’s Office entered an Agreement with CDFA to implement the 2023 Noxious Weed Program. To be eligible for the grant, applicants had to be an Agricultural Commissioner. The Agricultural Commissioner’s Office has been collaborating with RCD for the past few years to satisfy grant requirements. The majority of the funding will be passed through to NCRCD to remove noxious weeds throughout the County. NCRCD will use non-chemical weed removal/control techniques, hand chopping infestations, slashing just before flowering, using mattocks and shovels to remove plants as volunteers are capable.
