BACKGROUND

The Agricultural Commissioner’s Office entered an Agreement with CDFA to implement the 2023 Noxious Weed Program. To be eligible for the grant, applicants had to be an Agricultural Commissioner. The Agricultural Commissioner’s Office has been collaborating with RCD for the past few years to satisfy grant requirements. The majority of the funding will be passed through to NCRCD to remove noxious weeds throughout the County. NCRCD will use non-chemical weed removal/control techniques, hand chopping infestations, slashing just before flowering, using mattocks and shovels to remove plants as volunteers are capable.
