BACKGROUND
On January 23, 2024, the Board of Supervisors adopted a Resolution to participate in a federally funded Homeland Security Grant Program (HSPG) through its County Office of Emergency Services. The FY2023 HSPG award allocation amount of $204,898 covers expenditures for equipment, emergency management operational coordination, public health information sharing, communications, interoperability planning and grant management and administration costs between several agencies and departments within the County of Napa.
County Fire has received $71,000 of this grant to purchase a HazMat Sensor for the Napa County Interagency Hazmat Team (NIHIT). The device will allow NIHIT to keep within the standard of the Office of Emergency Services typing process.
