BACKGROUND
Napa County Housing Authority (Authority), a public housing authority established pursuant to California Health and Safety Code section 34200 et seq., is the owner of three farmworker housing centers (Centers) located in Napa County. The Authority has an agreement with California Human Development Corporation (CHDC), a non-profit corporation, to manage the day-to-day activities and maintenance at the Centers. In September 2023, CHDC and Housing Authority staff presented the Napa County Housing Commission with a list of capital improvement needs across all three Centers which included repairs, replacement and/or new installation of critical infrastructure and equipment such as walkways, fire suppression system, walk-in refrigerator, generator, and a roof. At the same time, Authority staff reviewed available and potential forthcoming funding sources for projects such as existing/available annual maintenance budget, funds resulting from a potential 2024 Bond (Bay Area Housing Finance Authority Housing Bond), and donations.
Cinco de Mayo Golf, Inc. (CDMG) is a local non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for the needs of Napa County farmworkers, specifically those living at the Centers.
