One of the primary barriers for recruiting and retaining families who take in a foster child is the lack of access to child care at the time of placement. Funding provided through the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) for the Emergency Child Care Bridge Program (Bridge Program), and distributed through this agreement with Community Resources for Children, Inc. This agreement is amended annually due to the revision of the annual allocation by CDSS. This agreement is being presented to the Board at this time as the FY 2023-2024 allocation was not received until late 2023.
Community Resources for Children, Inc., is Napa County's local Resource and Referral program, providing the community with information about the availability of child care in the area.
