BACKGROUND

There are currently two openings on the Napa County Wildlife Conservation Commission due to expiring terms. The County Executive Office advertised the openings and received two applications from Gregory Matsumoto and Kimberly Richard.

The purpose of the Wildlife Conservation Commission (WCC) is to advise the Board of Supervisors on policy matters related to the preservation and enhancement of wildlife and their habitats. This includes how funds received by Napa County, which is comprised of Fish and Game fines that are expended for the preservation, propagation, and protection of birds, mammals, fish, and amphibians.

 

The WCC consists of eight members appointed by the Board of Supervisors as follows:

                     Four members representing the Public at Large;

                     One Sportsperson/Angler;

                     One Wildlife/Conservation representative;

                     One Youth between the ages of 15 and 25; and

                     One Planning Commission representative.

 

Requested Action:

Reappointment of Gregory Matsumoto and Kimberly Richard to represent the Public at Large to the Napa County Wildlife Conservation Commission with terms of office to commence immediately and expire on February 1, 2027.
