EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Pursuant to Government Code sections 66503 and 66504, the Napa County City Selection Committee (Committee) is required to submit a total of three nominees to the Napa County Board of Supervisors for appointment of a representative to serve on the MTC.  The Committee met during special session and has provided the names of three nominees.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The proposed action is not a project as defined by 14 California Code of Regulations 15378 (State CEQA Guidelines) and therefore CEQA is not applicable.

 

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION

MTC is the transportation planning, financing, coordination and management agency for the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area.  Pursuant to Government Code sections 66503 and 66504, the Committee is charged with nominating three individuals from which the Board of Supervisors shall appoint a representative to the MTC for a four-year term of office commencing on February 10, 2023 and expiring on February 9, 2027.  MTC commissioners shall be selected for their special familiarity with the problems and issues in the field of transportation, as well as how it impacts housing and development.
At their special meeting of January 30, 2023, the Committee unanimously approved submitting the names of Napa County Board of Supervisor Alfredo Pedroza, City of Napa Councilmember Liz Alessio, and Town of Yountville Mayor Marjorie Mohler as nominees to be considered for appointment as the Napa County Representative.
Meetings are currently held the 4th Wednesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. There is a stipend of $100 per meeting up to five meetings a month plus travel expenses and mileage.
