EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On November 22, 2021, the Legislative Subcommittee (LS) adopted the recommended 2022 State and Federal Legislative & Regulatory Platforms (Platforms), after an extensive process, which began in October 2021. Staff will go over the changes to both platforms, including recommended legislative priorities for 2022.

Attached are clean and redline versions of each platform.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The proposed action is not a project as defined by 14 California Code of Regulations 15378 (State CEQA Guidelines) and therefore CEQA is not applicable.

 

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION

On November 4, 2021, staff presented the first draft of the 2022 Platforms at a Special Meeting of the LS. At that meeting, the LS gave direction to staff to bring back a second draft at a subsequent meeting. On November 22, 2021, staff presented the second draft of the Platforms, and following public comment, the LS took action to forward the Platforms to the full Board for adoption as the LS recommended Platforms for 2022.
