BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION

In 1983, the legislature passed Assembly Bill 2994, which authorized the creation of a CCTF. The purpose of the CCTF is to support child abuse prevention services in the community and to fund child abuse prevention coordinating councils (CAPCs), along with child abuse and neglect prevention and intervention programs.

HHSA received a donation of $12,500 from an organization that wishes to remain anonymous. Board Resolution No. 05-40 and the Recommended Procedure for the Acceptance and Disbursement of Gifts, Bequests, or Devices requires that donations in excess of $1,000 be accepted by the Board of Supervisors (Board).

If the Board accepts these funds they will be deposited into the CCTF which resides in HHSA’s budget, and subsequently applied to help support child abuse prevention services and our local CAPC.
