RECOMMENDATION

Director of Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) requests approval of and authorization for the Chair to sign the following agreements, for a term upon approval through June 30, 2025, to provide On-the Job Training (OJT) opportunities to trainees:
1. Agreement No. 230218B with On the Move, Inc., for a contract maximum of $50,000 per fiscal year; and
2. Agreement No. 230220B with The Salvation Army, for a contract maximum of $60,000 per fiscal year.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Approval of today's actions will enable On the Move and The Salvation Army to provide OJT to participants of Welfare to Work (WTW), Expanded Subsidized Employment (ESE), and CalFresh Employment and Training (CFET) programs.

Discretionary Justification:
There is no mandate to contract with these vendors, however, these agreements advance the goals of HHSA's Self Sufficiency Services Division (SSSD).

Future fiscal impact:
These agreements contain a provision for automatic annual renewal. Appropriations have been included in the approved Fiscal Year 2022-2023 budget and future fiscal years will be budgeted accordingly.
Consequences if not approved:
If these agreements are not approved, participants in HHSA's SSSD will be unable to receive the training opportunities available under these Agreements.
