There is currently one opening on the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway, and Transportation District Board of Directors due to an expiring term. The County Executive Office advertised the opening and received one request for reappointment from the incumbent, Barbara Pahre.

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
The Board of Supervisors appoints one representative to serve on the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway, and Transportation District who serves at the pleasure of the Board. The applicant, Barbara Pahre, has served as the BOS representative on the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway, and Transportation District for twenty-two years since first being appointed on August 8, 2000. During this time, Ms. Pahre has assumed numerous leadership roles at the District, such as Chair of the Rules Committee, and Vice Chair of the Finance Committee.
Based in San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway, and Transportation District operates the Golden Gate Bridge and two public transit systems: Golden Gate Transit buses and Golden Gate Ferry.
