BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION

The California Department of Public Health Tuberculosis Control Branch (CDPH TBCB) has awarded Napa County Public Health Department an additional allotment of $2,394 to add to the initial allotment of $32,500 that was processed earlier this year. The additional allotment is comprised of $1,111 State funds and $1,283 Federal funds. This brings the total allotment to date for FY 2021-22 to $34,894; State funds total $15,925 and Federal funds total $18,969.

The additional Real-Time Allotment of $2,394 is for local control of Tuberculosis (TB) disease. This additional allotment is based upon the number of TB cases reported between November 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021, and the number of completed B1-notification evaluations reported between November 1, 2021, and November 30, 2021, for immigrants arriving in our jurisdiction with a TB B-1 classification. This allotment can be used for allowable expenditures such as food, shelter, incentives and enablers (FSIE) for TB patients, contacts to TB patients and patients suspected of having TB, personnel, supplies, training, etc. To comply with federal restrictions on fund use, reimbursement of medication expenditures is limited to the state fund portion of the award.
