BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
Assembly Bill (AB) 74 (Chapter 23, Statutes 2019) authorizes Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) to manage and fund Medi-Cal outreach, enrollment, and retention services, called "Medi-Cal Health Enrollment Navigators Project." These funds are available for prior and current Fiscal Year.
The Self-Sufficiency Services Division will utilize this allocation augmentation to increase funding for a current Agreement with Community Health Initiative (CHI). CHI utilizes current funds to assist individuals with completing applications and renewals at onsite and outreach locations. The additional funding will allow CHI to continue to provide these services through June 30, 2022.
