EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The requested action makes changes to the Planning, Engineering, Environmental Health, and Natural Resources Divisions of the Planning, Building, and Environmental Health Department to stream line services to the public by strategically adding to staffing capacity.

Discretionary Justification:
Current staffing levels are not sufficient to meet new and growing requirements related to wastewater programs, drought conditions, fire rebuilds, and new construction project within the Planning, Building, and Environmental Services (PBES) Department's oversight.

Yes
Future fiscal impact:
The increased cost of salary and benefits for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2021-2022 for the proposed action is estimated at $94,295. The increased annualized cost for this position is estimated at $262,000 and will be budgeted accordingly in future fiscal years.
