SUBJECT: Application and Acceptance of Funding for Family Justice Center Program
RECOMMENDATION

District Attorney requests approval of and authorization for the Chair to sign a Certification of Assurance of Compliance document with the California Office of Emergency Services in the anticipated amount of $306,336 for the two (2) year term of April 1, 2022 through March 31, 2024 that authorizes the District Attorney to apply for and sign grant Subaward documents with the California Office of Emergency Services for the Family Justice Center (FJ) Program.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Approval of the recommended action will allow the District Attorney to apply for and sign grant subaward documents, including applications, amendments, extensions, and modifications, thereof, for the Family Justice Center Program in Napa County. This subaward program is administered by the California Office of Emergency Services to provide State General Funds to support operational multiagency, multidisciplinary Family Justice Centers, providing services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, elder or dependent adult abuse and human trafficking.

Discretionary Justification:
This item is discretionary in that there is no mandate for the District Attorney's Office to provide additional services through the Family Justice Center. However, following the receipt of an emerging Family Justice Center grant, the Monarch Justice Center was established to serve crime survivors in a multidisciplinary collaboration of public and private professionals dedicated to providing access and resources.
