Director of Library Services and Community Outreach requests the following:
1. Acceptance of a donation in the amount of $3,000 from the Robert and Ellen Streich Family Endowment for the Adult Literacy Program; and
2. Authorization for the Chair to sign a letter of appreciation in acceptance of the donation.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Director of Library Services and Community Outreach requests Board's authorization to accept a donation in the amount of $3,000 from the Robert and Ellen Streich Family Endowment, a Legacy Fund of the Napa Valley Community Foundation. This donation will be used to purchase books and outreach materials for the adult literacy program of the Literacy Center at the Napa County Library.

Funds are deposited in the Napa County Library Literacy Center Budget, revenue line item 47500- Donations and Contributions.

Discretionary Justification:
Approval of the requested action will enable the donated funds to be used to purchase books and outreach materials for the adult literacy programs held at the Literacy Center of the Napa County Library.
Is the general fund affected?
No
Future fiscal impact:
None. Although the donor has not stipulated that the funds be expended this fiscal year, the literacy center intends to fully expend the funds by year end.
Consequences if not approved:
If the requested action is not approved, the Library will not be able to accept the $3,000 donation, nor purchase the books and outreach materials for the adult literacy learners in the Literacy Center.
