BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
The Napa County Suicide Prevention Council (NCSPC) is a public/private collaborative of Napa families impacted by suicide and agencies that serve the Napa County Community. The NCSPC strives to save lives and envisions a suicide-free community through education and training, stigma reduction, and provision of resources to combat suicide.
According to the Centers for Disease Control:
Suicide is the tenth leading cause of death in the U.S., and in 2019 claimed 47,511, suicide was the second leading cause of death among individuals between the ages of 10 and 34, and the fourth leading cause of death among individuals between the ages of 35 and 44.
