BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION

On January 12, 2021, the Board of Supervisors approved an agreement with Zonehaven, Inc., an emergency evacuation mapping software platform. On April 6th, 2021, Sheriff’s Office returned to the Board to provide an update on project implementation.  Napa County and its incorporated municipalities have established standardized evacuation zones for the County using Zonehaven. The finalized community evacuation map is available for review at: https://community.zonehaven.com/

Evacuation zones are boundary specific areas identified by the Napa County Sheriff’s Office that are used during emergencies to notify the public of imminent threat or danger. In the past, evacuation zones were different for each incident; now evacuation zones will remain mostly the same. Residents can use this tool before disasters to learn their zones for home and work, which will enhance their readiness during emergencies.
