RECOMMENDATION
title
Approve and authorize Amendment No. 5 to Agreement No. 230118B (MPCD) with Prestige Lawn Care Maintenance to extend the term through June 30, 2027. (Fiscal Impact: $90,000 Expense; Monticello Public Cemetery District Fund; Budgeted; Discretionary)
body
BACKGROUND
On August 5, 2022, the Monticello Public Cemetery District (MPCD) entered into Agreement No. 230118B with Prestige Landscaping for the provision of landscape maintenance services. Since the start of the agreement, Prestige Landscaping has consistently delivered high-quality services in accordance with contract requirements, including routine maintenance, seasonal plantings, and irrigation support. Their responsiveness and performance have supported the District's operational goals and helped to improve and preserve the condition and appearance of County grounds. Considering this successful partnership and the continued need for uninterrupted landscaping services, staff recommend extending Agreement No. 230118B to ensure continuity of service and avoid potential disruption.
Continued landscaping maintenance ensures that pathways and walkways are clear and accessible, overgrown vegetation and hazards are cleared regularly, and the environment remains tranquil, safe, and respectful to welcome visitors. This amendment will not change the scope of work but will increase the maximum compensation during fiscal year 2025-26 by $55,000, from $35,000 to $90,000 to complete various landscaping needs such as planting trees along the fence line (previously lost in the wildfire), digging trenches to mitigate erosion, and clearing of thickets. The maximum compensation for fiscal year 2026-27 will remain at $35,000 for routine maintenance.
