BACKGROUND
The City of American Canyon has contracted with the County for law enforcement services provide by the Sheriff's Office since 1993. Under the terms of this amendment, the Sheriff's Office will provide one (1) police Chief (Captain), one (1) Lieutenant, five (5) Sergeants, nineteen (19) Deputy Sheriffs, and one (1) Records Technician II. Included in the Deputy Sheriff positions are one (1) Community Resource Office, two (2) School Resource Officers, two (2) Moto Officers, and two (2) K9 Officers.
During the term of this agreement, July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2027, the total cost for law enforcement services as set forth in the amendment is as follows: FY 2024-2025: $9,393,388, FY 2025-2026: $9,759,801, and FY 2026-2027: $10,298,010. If three (3) additional sworn personnel are added in the final two years of the agreement as set forth in the amendment, the total cost is as follows: FY 2025-2026: $10,325,887, and FY 26-27: $11,118,254.
Requested Action:
1. Approve and authorize the Chair to sign Amendment No. 20 of revenue Agreement No. 200005B (formerly Agreement No. 3220) with the City of American Canyon for the first term July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025, with an automatic renewal clause for two additional years for the provision of law enforcement services within the City's municipal boundaries.
