BACKGROUND

Governor Newsom has called a special election on November 4, 2025, for the voters to approve or disapprove a legislative proposal for mid-decade redistricting of California’s House of Representative districts. Napa County’s Election Official must conduct an election called by proclamation. The estimated cost of the election for Napa County is $682,336. The legislation calling the election says the state will reimburse the $682,336 cost of the election to Napa County by the end of September per the California State Association of Counties.

Requested Action: Approve a Budget Amendment to increase appropriations by $682,336 offset by an increase in State Other Funding Revenue.
