BACKGROUND
Following the Nuns/Partrick Fires in 2017, Langtry Road has significantly deteriorated, particularly in areas where heavy equipment used for fire containment efforts and subsequent reconstruction activities have reduced sections to gravel. These road maintenance overlay projects are part of the County's ongoing infrastructure management efforts to maintain road conditions, extend pavement life and increase pavement condition index.
To address these challenges effectively, our staff is requesting a budget amendment from the PG&E Settlement Designation specifically allocated for overlay repairs. The request is to use that fund for Project 25048 (Langtry Road Maintenance Overlay). For Lower Chiles Valley Road and Pope Valley Cross Road Maintenance Overlay the request is to use funds from Upper Valley Disposal Service (UVDS) Franchise fee. These allocations will enable us to implement comprehensive repairs essential for restoring the road's structural integrity and ensuring safe passage for residents.
