BACKGROUND

The Pickett Fire began on Thursday, August 21, 2025 and burned approximately 6,800 acres. Personnel hit 2,800 during peak response with additional volunteers and support staff called to activate evacuation and emergency sheltering protocol. Initial reports include vineyard destruction and crop taint, potential watershed impacts, and damage to infrastructure and five unoccupied structures.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The proposed action is not a project as defined by 14 California Code of Regulations 15378 (State CEQA Guidelines) and therefore CEQA is not applicable.
