BACKGROUND
The Board approved Agreement No. 230241B on December 6, 2022, and Amendment No. 1 on June 17, 2025, for the University of Cincinnati Research Institute (UCCI) to provide initial evidence-based practices (EBP) training and technical assistance for all staff in criminal justice agencies and to maintain foundational EBP training. It is important for Probation Officers to case manage the high-risk population with continual training in best practices and recidivism reduction.
UCCI provides a train-the-trainer model and a no-per-use fee for the curriculum once staff complete the train-the-trainer program.
Amendment No. 1 extended the term of the Agreement through June 30, 2026 allowing for continued EBP training to staff. The original agreement and Amendment No. 1 have a combined contract maximum of $235,000, of which $230,000 is funded through a state realignment offset that was approved by the Community Corrections Partnership Committee (CCP) at its May 12, 2022, meeting. The remaining $5,000 is a general fund expense.
This new agreement is a continuation of EBP training and technical assistance and includes the County's updated terms and conditions. The contract maximum is offset by state realignment funds.
