NAPA COUNTY STAFF PRESENTATION ON THE REGULATORY STATUS OF THE CLOVER FLAT LANDFILL:

BACKGROUND
At the Board’s April 21, 2025 meeting Waste Connections (UVDS) made a presentation regarding its intention to close the Clover Flat Landfill at some point in the future and likely use the property as a transfer operation to move waste to the Potrero Hills Landfill instead. At the Board’s June 23, 2025 meeting, Agency Counsel produced a memorandum and presented on the process and various steps of landfill closure, and its possible impacts on the Agency and its customers. Interested readers are encouraged to review the materials that are online from those meetings.
At our last meeting, the Board invited Napa County regulatory staff (those that oversee regulatory compliance at the landfill) to come present on the current status of the landfill, and what the closure process may look like going forward. County staff graciously agreed to attend the meeting today. Any materials they provide at the meeting will be uploaded to the web upon completion of the meeting.
