Accept the Williams Monitoring Report provided by the Napa County Superintendent of Schools. (No Fiscal Impact)

BACKGROUND

The Napa County Superintendent of Schools is required to perform school site visits to assess a safe environment for children, cleanliness of the schools, that schools have the appropriate educational materials, and fully credentialed teachers. In addition, the Superintendent is required to submit such a report annually to the Board of Supervisors.
The purpose of the visits as specified in California Education Code Section 1240 was to ensure:
1. Students have access to "sufficient" instructional materials in from core subject areas of English/ language arts, mathematics, history/social science, science;
2. The school is in compliance with facilities maintenance to ensure that there are no "emergency or urgent threats to the health and safety of pupils or staff”;
3. The school has provided accurate data for the annual School Accountability Report Card (SARC) related to instructional materials and facilities maintenance; and
4. Classrooms have a copy of the current Uniform Complaint Procedure displayed.

Requested Action:
Accept the Williams Monitoring report.

ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The proposed action is not a project as defined by 14 California Code of Regulations 15378 (State CEQA Guidelines) and therefore CEQA is not applicable.
