Approve and authorize removing depreciated, obsolete, and unusable capital assets from the Sheriff’s Office inventory.  (No Fiscal Impact, Discretionary)

BACKGROUND

Sheriff’s Office has equipment listed as capital asset inventory that have become obsolete and unusable.  All capital assets on the attached list are deemed appropriate for disposal. The items are primarily information technology related assets, including a MondoPad and a mobile fingerprint ID system.

Requested actions:
1. Declare certain items of capital assets property as surplus and no longer required for public use.
2. Authorize removal of the capital assets from the Sheriff’s Office inventory.
3. Authorize e-waste disposal.

ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The proposed action is not a project as defined by 14 California Code of Regulations 15378 (State CEQA Guidelines) and therefore CEQA is not applicable.
