BACKGROUND
The On-the-Job Training (OJT) program, as provided by the County's Health and Human Services Agency's (HHSA) Self Sufficiency Services (SSS) Division, provides training and employment opportunities to adults and youth who are enrolled in Welfare to Work (WTW), Expanded Subsidized Employment (ESE), and/or CalFresh Employment and Training (CFET) programs.

These programs are designed to help participants reduce significant barriers to self-sufficiency which include trauma, homelessness, substance abuse and mental health issues, and lack of education, health care, financial resources, and familial involvement and support. The goal of these programs is to assist participants with attaining permanent, unsubsidized employment.

Under this Agreement, On The Move, Inc. (OTM) will provide employment and occupational training to enrolled participants that SSS staff have identified would benefit, with HHSA's SSS reimbursing the employer for 50% of trainees' wages. The reimbursement is designed to offset the costs for employers bringing candidates on board that are experiencing barriers to employment that may not have the desired work experience or appropriate skill set.

On The Move, Inc., is a local vendor.
