BACKGROUND
This agreement between the Napa County Office of Education (NCOE) and the COUNTY is for the purpose of providing a Career Technical Education (CTE) teacher at the Skyline Academy. A CTE teacher in the Juvenile Hall educates youth by teaching them vocational and life skills to prepare them for success after release. Their role and responsibilities include adapting curriculum to meet diverse learning needs, managing a classroom in a secure facility, fostering development of pro-social and life skills for rehabilitation and successful integration into the community.
Career Technical Education provides students with career and academic skills. It additionally provides soft skills needed in the workplace such as critical thinking, communication, teamwork, integrity, ethical leadership, creativity and innovation.
NCOE anticipates the Fiscal Year 2025-26 CTE teacher salary is approximately $149,970. Probation shall contribute $50,000 toward the cost of the salary.
The Agreement has an automatic one-year annual renewal ending on June 30, 2027.
Requested Action:
Approve and authorize Agreement 260109B with Napa County Office of Education for the term August 11, 2025 through June 30, 2026 with a contract maximum of $50,000 and an automatic renewal of one (1) year.
