EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Napa County Housing Commission is chartered to have of nine members consisting of seven Housing Commissioners and two Tenant Commissioners. On August 5, 2024, the Clerk of the Board received an application from Jennifer Putnam for appointment to the Housing Commission as a member interested and/or experienced in affordable housing and/or farmworker housing. As a next step, the Clerk of the Board will set an appointment date at an upcoming Board of Supervisor's meeting. Staff request a recommendation letter from Housing Commissioners to Board of Supervisors prior to the meeting for approval of Jennifer Putnam's application.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The proposed action is not a project as defined by 14 California Code of Regulations 15378 (State CEQA Guidelines) and therefore is not applicable.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
The Napa County Housing Commission is chartered to have nine members consisting of seven Housing Commissioners and two Tenant Commissioners. All Commissioners are appointed by the Napa County Board of Supervisors. Current commission members include representatives from the Napa County Farm Bureau, Napa Valley Grape Growers, Napa Valley Vintners, Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation, an affordable housing developer, a real estate or a real estate developer, and one member interested and/or experienced in affordable housing and/or farmworker housing. Since May of 2023, the seat for the member with interest and/or experience in affordable housing and/or farmworker housing has been vacant.
