BACKGROUND

The wine industry in Napa County is the economic and cultural foundation of the Napa Valley region, shaping its identity both locally and globally. Generating billions of dollars annually, Napa County is home to a range of 500-550 physical wineries at a given time and 45,000 acres of vineyards. The wine industry supports tens of thousands of local jobs in farming, winemaking, hospitality, distribution, tourism and more.

Receipt of this informational presentation will provide an opportunity for Board Members, Planning Commissioners, staff and members of the public to better understand the current state of the wine industry.

A lack of approval will result in a missed opportunity for both bodies to hear information and ask pertinent questions in a public forum.
