BACKGROUND
This was a year of many achievements for the Napa County Fire Department (NCFD). Many existing programs continued to develop and expand while new programs were initiated. Napa County continues to promote its projects while engaging with the community to increase education and support.

Fire Chief Matt Ryan and Assistant Chief Brian Ham will provide an update on operations. Highlights include additional staffing and new apparatus and equipment. The Napa County Volunteer Firefighter Program was restructured and received 10,000 training hours. NCFD will also share successes on fire prevention efforts.

Shari Gardner, the Wildfire Preparedness and County Coordinator with Napa Communities Firewise Foundation, will give a report on the ongoing progress with community outreach and the development of Fire Safe Councils.

Napa County Fire Administration has reached its first-year anniversary with the County. David Shew, Fire Administrator, will be delivering updates on a fire-resilient future for Napa County. These updates will include a progress report on the integration of wildfire science and technology, forward movement with insurance issues, and updates on contracts. He will also provide an update on the Napa County Fire Marshal's Office, which will include an overview of permits, vegetation mitigation programs, and the chipping program.
