BACKGROUND
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Santa Rosa (Catholic Charities) has operated an emergency family shelter in a house on Jefferson Street in the City of Napa known as "Rainbow House" since 2017. The shelter is a 7-unit, 28 bed facility, available for families with minor children who are experiencing homelessness.
The purpose of this agreement is to provide funding for the operation of the shelter run by Catholic Charities to provide families with minor children who are experiencing homelessness with emergency shelter, food, and community resources in a safe, respectful, and inclusive manner seven days per week, 365 days per year. The agreement provides critically needed funding for case management services and shelter operations.
Rising operational costs related to food, supplies and staffing are driving the necessary increase of $40,000. Today's action increases the contract maximum from $360,000 to $400,000, per Fiscal Year to ensure continuity of emergency shelter services for families with minor children who are experiencing homelessness in Napa County.
