SUBJECT: American Canyon Library Closure
RECOMMENDATION
title
Authorize closure of the American Canyon Library location for the duration of the American Canyon Library Remodel project anticipated for December 1, 2025 through January 4, 2026. (No Fiscal Impact)
body
BACKGROUND
On March 25, 2025, the Board approved and authorized the creation of Capital Improvement Project 25017 for the "American Canyon Library Remodel," PW 25-09, which will update the facilities interior furnishings, flooring, paint, bathroom doors, and exterior signage.
Staff recommends revision of the American Canyon Library's Open/Closed schedule. A full closure through the month of December 2025 is necessary to complete the remodel project.
The proposed closure dates would be consecutive, and just over one month. Because of the project's compressed timeline, allowing changes to the Library's Open/Closed Schedule for this project will facilitate the most efficient site changes and allow the County's website to be updated as to the schedule.
The American Canyon Library is owned by the City of American Canyon and leased by Napa County. The lease agreement obligates Napa County to maintain the interior of the building (walls, windows, doors, flooring). The City of American Canyon have approved the project and the closure timeline and will inform City of American Canyon residents accordingly.
