Adopt a Resolution authorizing the Director of Health and Human Services Agency to execute agreements and program related documents with the California Department of Health Care Services to accept the Providing Access and Transforming Health Justice-Involved Capacity Building Round 3 grant award, in the amount of $901,471, for the purchasing costs of implementation and infrastructure to support the SmartCare Electronic Health Record system. BACKGROUND
Napa County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) applied for and was awarded funding under the California Providing Access and Transforming Health (PATH) Justice-Involved Capacity Building Round 3 Program, administered by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) through its third-party administrator, Public Consulting Group (PCG).
This program provides start-up funding to counties to build the infrastructure and adopt the technology necessary to implement CalAIM's Justice-Involved Reentry Initiative, as mandated by AB 133. These efforts are designed to ensure that individuals who are incarcerated and eligible for Medi-Cal can access behavioral health and care coordination services prior to and immediately following release.
HHSA was awarded $901,471 to support implementation of the SmartCare Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. These funds will allow HHSA to establish secure data-sharing, care coordination, and interoperability capabilities that meet DHCS operational readiness requirements for pre-release and reentry behavioral health services.
