RECOMMENDATION

title

Approve revisions to the Lodging Revenue and Deposit Policy and Procedure for improved efficiency. (No Fiscal Impact; Discretionary)
[4/5 vote required]

body

BACKGROUND

The Napa County Housing Authority contracts with California Human Development (Operator) to provide onsite property management services including collecting and depositing rents. The Lodging Revenue and Deposit Policy and Procedure (Policy) provides direction to the Operator on how to collect and deposit rent revenues. The proposed revisions contain minor administrative changes and increases the requirement for deposit transfer from $1,500 to $3,200. While the Policy is working effectively, recent rent increases have resulted in increased operational expenses related to Operator travel (depositing at bank). These revisions have been vetted through the Auditor-Controller’s Office and the Napa County Housing Commission and will be effective May 1st.

Requested action:
Approve revisions to the Loding Revenue and Deposit Policy and Procedure.
