Director of Human Resources and County Executive Officer request adoption of a Resolution amending the Table and Index of Classes, Departmental Allocation List for the Napa County Fire Department, appropriate personnel policies, and appointing David Shew as Fire Administrator at Step 3 of the position's pay scale to serve at the will of the Board of Supervisors, effective October 28, 2023, with no net increase in full-time equivalents (FTEs).

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Fire Administrator is an appointed position which serves at the will of the Board of Supervisors. If approved, the recommended action updates position control documents, applicable management compensation plans, and formally appoints David Shew as the Fire Administrator at Step 3 of the position's pay scale at the will of the Board. The position is responsible for strategic planning, coordination, and oversight across a range of administrative, communication, managerial, and financial functions within the County Fire Department.
