BACKGROUND
A landslide on Redwood Road near Mile Post Marker (MPM) 2.3 or address 3534 Redwood Road has been slowly progressing for several years is in danger of falling into Redwood Creek, and thereby closing Redwood Road. Approximately 0.8 miles east of Mt. Veeder Road, there are cracks in the west bound lanes that indicate a downhill slide toward Napa Creek. A road closure at that location would cause major traffic disruption; therefore, staff is requesting a budget amendment for surveying and design work to develop repair alternatives, while the road is still open.
Requested Actions:
1. Approve a Budget Amendment for the following (4/5 vote required):
a) Increase Transfers Out appropriations by $350,000 in the Capital Improvement Projects Fund (Fund 3000, Sub-Division 3000000, Account 56100) offset by use of its available fund balance by release of PG&E Settlement Designation to transfer to Project 25008; and
b) Creation of a new project for the "Redwood Road 2.3 Repair Wall" RDS 24-20, (Fund 2040, Sub- Division 2040500, Project 25008) and increase appropriations for Engineer Services by $350,000 (Fund 2040, Sub-Division 2040500, Project 25008, Account 52145) offset by a transfer-in revenue from Capital Improvement Projects Fund.
