BACKGROUND
Adult Protective Services Program (APS) is a State mandated program charged with the investigation of allegations of abuse and neglect perpetrated against dependent adults and individuals aged 60 years and older who reside outside of licensed facilities. APS works closely with the District Attorney's (DA) Office and local law enforcement agencies to provide protective services for this vulnerable population. Additionally, APS coordinates interventions and social services intended to maintain positive outcomes for individuals referred to the program.
Jump Technologies Services, LLC, provides LEAPS Software which assists the APS social worker in complying with State regulations and in maintaining a comprehensive database on all reports of abuse. Staff from County's APS program participated in a multi-county workgroup to inform the development of an Intake Screening Tool (IST) which, once embedded in the application, will provide consistency in screening and evaluation, supporting guided decision making and documentation in the intake process.
