Approval of plans and specifications for the "Bale, Big Ranch, Lodi, Silverado Trail, and West Zinfandel Paving Project," RDS 25-06; and authorization to advertise for sealed bids and opening of the bids at a time, date, and location to be published by the Director of Public Works pursuant to Section 20150.8 of the Public Contract Code. BACKGROUND
On April 22, 2025, the Board of Supervisors (BOS) authorized creation of the "Bale, Big Ranch, Lodi, Silverado Trail, and West Zinfandel Paving Project," RDS 25-06 and a budget amendment to fund the design of the project. Design is now complete.
The roads to be included in the project are as follows:
Bale Lane (0.70 miles) - All
Big Ranch Road (0.7 miles) - Oak Knoll Ave (east) to End
Lodi Lane (0.53 miles) - All
Silverado Trail (2.4 miles) - Zinfandel Lane to 6,000 feet south of the Caltrans SR 128
West Zinfandel Lane (0.56 miles) - All
Total miles: 4.9 miles
The Engineer's Estimate for construction cost excluding soft cost and contingency is $5 million. The Plans and Specifications are complete and ready for approval by the Board of Supervisors. The Director is requesting authorization to advertise for bids. County staff will return to the Board of Supervisors at the time of construction to present a detailed project budget based on the lowest responsible bid and to request a budget transfer to fund the construction.
