Approve and authorize removing depreciated, obsolete, and unusable capital assets from the Sheriff’s Office inventory. (No Fiscal Impact; Discretionary)

BACKGROUND

The Sheriff’s Office has identified three mobile data computers (MDCs) listed in the capital asset inventory that have exceeded their useful life and are now obsolete and unusable. The three MDCs identified on the attached list are deemed appropriate for e-waste disposal.

Requested Actions:

1. Declare certain items of capital asset property as surplus and no longer required for public use.

2. Authorize removal of the capital assets from the Sheriff’s Office inventory.

3. Authorize e-waste disposal.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The proposed action is not a project as defined by 14 California Code of Regulations 15378 (State CEQA Guidelines) and therefore CEQA is not applicable.
