BACKGROUND

The United States Election Assistance Commission (EAC) has provided funding under Section 101 of Help America Vote Act (HAVA) for improved voter accessibility. The California Secretary of State has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of these funds, including setting up necessary procedures for allocation of those funds. Said procedures require the County to certify by resolution, the approval of contracts for distribution of said funds to Napa County. Funds were expended for language accessibility devices for all vote centers to accommodate voters needing interpretation assistance and curbside voting equipment for each vote center to accommodate voters with disabilities.

Requested Action: Adopt a Resolution authorizing Voter Accessibility Reimbursement Contract with California Secretary of State in the amount of $13,778.
