BACKGROUND
California Department of Public Health's (CDPH) Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a federally funded nutrition program available at no cost to eligible low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women and children up to age 5. The goal of the WIC program is to improve the health and dietary needs of low-income families by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referrals to other health care and social services as needed, while empowering families to build a healthy future through their local WIC clinic. There are nearly 2,000 WIC participants in Napa County. The monthly food benefits issued by WIC increase participant access to healthy foods and contributes to the local economy.

Approval of this amendment replaces Exhibit A (Scope of Work) to reflect updated performance standards and Exhibit B (Budget Detail and Payment Provisions) to reflect the increased allocation amount for one year only.
